Friday night and into yesterday morning, it was the first snow of the season. And the first snow I have “lived” in since the winter of 1985/86. It was a wet snow that sticks to the tree limbs and due to the wind it also sticks to the sides of the trees.
I was excited to get out and shoot the gorgeous winter wonderland, however, there was a funeral to attend. Knowing that there would be beautiful snow-covered trees at the church, my compact camera went with me. Below is a gallery of images made at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church along with a few photos from yesterday afternoon at East Lake Park. woawwww it is just wonderful ❤
Thank you, it was truly breathtaking to see in person!
In Paris we havent snow at this moment. It is not always alll the winters each year we have it (sory for my english) …
Hi Tamara,
These are absolutely lovely! Your East Lake Park 2384 reminds me of a snow scene I took a few winters ago, here. We had snow yesterday, too, but only a little over an inch. Big, wet flakes that clung to the trees, etc. It was very pretty.
Sorry I’ve been out of touch. Busy summer – as you obviously have had, too. We are in the process of selling our house and moving, but still within the same town. Retirement has been bumped back another year.
Wishing you and yours a very joyous and happy Thanksgiving!

It has been a busy few months for us indeed! We had less than 30 days to pack and get moved out of our home in Phoenix. Getting settled has taken longer than I anticipated and now the holidays are upon us. Moving is never fund whether it’s in the same town or another state.

Snow is fun to photograph….Try Saunderâs Park….with the creek …if it isnât frozen over.
I’ll remember that next snow. It’s hard to get a reflection in that creek with pretty light.
Such beautiful images, Tamara….very well done. 🙂
Thank you, it was such a beautiful first snow! The snow will probably be gone today or tomorrow as the high will be about 40 or so.
Another one of those ephemeral treasures. 🙂
Indeed!
Wow! What a switch from desert flowers. Nice snow scene 😊.
Thank you, yes quite different than the desert!
