I wanted to make this image looking more like an impressionistic painting than a photo. By using a very shallow depth of field, I was able to accomplish my vision. My 50mm prime lens is one of my favorite lenses in my bag. Versatile enough to do intimate landscape shots and when wide open there is no limit to what you can create.

Thank you Lindy! I took this last spring at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Wildflowers are confused this year with such warm temperatures. I need to do some scouting to see what is happening in the desert. Rattlesnakes are out already, a few reported bites and removal from homes….scary!
