Farming….Not a 9 to 5 Job

During my trip to Iowa this fall, I had the opportunity to photograph harvest season.  This was not something I had done before, but was excited to give it a whirl.  Fortunately, I have family members who are farmers and was able to shoot from inside of the cab of the combine.  There is a lot of dust and debris in the air as the combine picks the crops.

Fall in the Midwest is my favorite time of year.  Not only the changing color in the leaves, but all the hustle and bustle of harvesting the crops.

  1. Tamara – I spent most of the summer in MN this year and it wasn’t till we drove home via IA and Nebraska, that i saw this equipment i action, day and night….i learned a ton about US farming on the trip, Googled stuff to understand it better, and your photos put it all together for me. Many thanks…!!!

    1. Thanks Jackie! It was certainly fun shooting and something I would like to do again and again and again! My favorite time of year-you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl!
