The wildflowers and cactus blooms are long gone in the Sonoran Desert. This claret cup cactus image was made mid-morning a few months ago at the Desert Botanical Garden . I used my gold reflector to bounce some warm light giving the cactus and blooms some pop. Shooting macro allows me to shoot all day in any light when using a reflector and/or diffuser and sometimes both.

Gorgeous color. We have cactus down the road that only bloom in white, and not quite as compact a flower.
Thank you. There are so many varieties of cacti here in Arizona with many different colors of blooms.
